Ministry
As
part of God's family, we have all been given
special and unique gifts. Everything we are and everything we have has
been freely given to us by our generous God. As baptized Christians and
stewards of God's gifts, we have a responsibility to use and share our special
gifts out of love and gratitude in all aspects of our daily lives-at home, at
work, in our community and in our parish. Parish ministry is one way we
can continue the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ and help bring about God's
kingdom.
Here are just some of the Ministry
opportunities here at Saint Rosalie's! Click a category for specific
ministries and details. (Additions to this page will be
ongoing.)
Good deeds, whether in the parish or elsewhere, are
considered ministry if the motivation is love and gratitude to God for all we
have received. We give praise and glory to God each time we use our gifts
for the common good. We are truly the hands and heart of Christ in today's
world. St. Teresa of Avila's words of the 16th century continue to be
timely. Let us pray:
Christ has
no body now but yours.
No hands, no feet, on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which He looks
compassion on this world.
Yours are the feet
with which He walks to do good.
Yours are the hands
with which He blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet.
Yours are the eyes, you are His body.
Christ has no body now but yours.
No hands, no feet on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes, through which He looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
These are the words of St. Theresa of
Avila written in the 16th century.
Make St. Teresa's words your own now by
praying a second time substituting the words “I” and “mine” instead of “you” and
“yours.” Pray and reflect on how God is calling you to share your own
gifts through ministry.
- Altar Servers-Our
young boys and girls have an early choice to accept the call to share their
gifts in service. Altar Servers assist the priest at our liturgical
ceremonies. Training is offered each Fall for children as young as the
4th grade. These hourly classes are held for six weeks and conclude
with an investiture ceremony.
- Music Ministry-
Our talented music ministers help and encourage us to be actively and
consciously involved in our Liturgical Celebration! There are
different choirs that you may participate in, each with its own
rehearsal time. We are always ready to welcome new voices!

| Monday: |
God Started it All! |
|
 |
On Monday
we looked at the wonders of the EARTH!
We made flower pots, planted seeds and ate "cups of dirt" that we made
ourselves.
|
| Tuesday: |
Twirlin' and Breezy! |
|
 |
On Tuesday we took a look at
God's gift of WIND! We made
windsocks, experienced wind in parachutes and made wind-blown cotton
candy. |
| Wednesday: |
Wacky-Under the Sea! |
|
 |
Wednesday we packed everything
up and headed to ATLANTIS MARINE WORLD in Riverhead and explored the wonders
of God's gift of WATER!
We saw sharks, touched Manta Rays and held sea stars and other wonderful
creations of God! |
| Thursday: |
It's Too Hot! |
|
 |
Thursday were set on fire with
God's love! We looked at the gift of LIGHT and FIRE by making
candle bookmarks and sun-catchers.
We then
celebrated that we
are the light of the world! |
| Friday: |
Fun and Frolic! |
|
 |
On
Friday we celebrated that God holds the whole
world in His hands. It was too hot to go out, so we picnicked
indoors, finished our giant banner and shared with our families the
songs and dance we learned throughout the week! |
